![]() "Elysium" gets rid of a few problems "Polaris" created, but goes on to create even more. However, "Elysium" confirms that the new version of Stratovarius learned absolutely nothing from "Polaris." Strato's thirteenth album "Elysium" might not be as much of a blatant copy of past material as "Polaris" was, but it is every bit as soulless and formulaic. If just one album after the repopulation of the band was a bit bland and formulaic, I could forgive that. After all, it's pretty hard to find a new identity after such a well loved and established band losses so much that is so important to them. After the train wreck that was "Polaris," Stratovarius really needed a strong showing with their new lineup to show that they were back in business.
